CYCLING ROUTE FROM MOJSTRANA TO BELOPEK LAKES

One of the most beautiful cycling trails in Slovenia, the Jureta Robiča Cycling Trail, is located near the Trata Resort. It follows the former railway line from Mojstrana through Kranjska Gora to Rateč and further into Italy to the Belopek Lakes and Trbiž. It is part of the D-2 cycling route linking Croatia and Italy. If you start your journey from us, you will join the route approximately in the middle, take the left towards Mojstrana and the right towards Kranjska Gora. The route is very scenic, partly following a disused railway line, crossing many bridges, and almost completely separated from motor traffic. It is also suitable for children, with no steep climbs, you can find refreshment stations and well-maintained rest areas along the way. The route is easy, asphalted or paved. Along the way you can enjoy the view of the mountain peaks, refresh yourself by the Sava River, and if you're lucky, admire horses, goats, sheep and other animals in the paddocks along the way.

FROM US PAST JASNA LAKE TO VRŠIČ MOUNTAIN PASS

From "Trata", cycle along the D-2 towards Kranjska Gora and ride along the Pišnica river towards Jasna Lake. At the lake you can rest and cool your feet in the icy water. For the more casual recreationalists, you can take a lap around Lake Jasna and return to the Trata apartments, while the more avid hikers can tackle the uphill and conquer the Vršič mountain pass. Built in the First World War, the road linking the Zgornjesavska Valley with the Trenta Valley in Primorska county has become a concept in cycling climbs and is a popular topic among cyclists. The climb is always on an asphalted car road and the driving has to be adapted accordingly. From Jasna to Vrh there are 24 bends. Despite your determination to reach the top, we recommend that you visit the Russian Chapel along the way, which is dedicated to the Russian soldiers who were buried by an avalanche during the construction of the road to Vršič.

ONE LINE CYCLING TRAIL 1994

1994 is a new course with the most prestigious pedigree, as Slovenian competitors in the Cross discipline have been racing on a very similar course as far back as 1994, so the name is not surprising. The course has been completely renovated and adapted to the needs of the so-called “all-mountain” riders. The track offers two climbs and a descent. It connects the start of the Drčev rut Trail Park with the already established Kinder Surprise track. Signposts lead you to the trail from the crossroads at Lake Jasna, where you climb uphill to the start of the descent above the Drčev rut clearing, followed by a short but fun downhill. There is a second climb and an easy ride to the next descent, which takes you back up to the gravel road, where you continue the climb to the last descent, called Kinder Surprise.
