Blažčev’s Rock is a 1091-metre-high outcrop located northeast of Mojstrana and Dovje. The steep cliffs rising above the village of Dovje offer several long stretches and a magnificent view of the Vrata valley. The climbing area, called Blažčev's Rock, is suitable for experienced climbers as the routes are mostly multi-pitch and quite difficult. There are 25 routes to choose from, ranging from 18 to 80 meters in length. The top of the rock can also be reached via a well-maintained footpath leading to the middle rock. From the top of the rock, you can also do an interesting 80 meter adrenaline descent.
Between Dovje and Blažčev’s Rock, you will find the Urbas Rock climbing area. The 27 routes, ranging from 12 to 27 meters in length, are mostly of easier difficulty. The climbing center also offers two overhanging technical routes, which are suitable especially for climbing schools.
The high mountain climbing area on Vršič is clearly visible from the pass and can be reached by following the path that leads to the shelter under Špičko. The smooth slopes with good rock offer 35 routes ranging from 18 to 100 meters in length.
The climbing area in Radovna can be found near the hand-shaped monument. The steep access leads to fifteen routes of 14 to 25 meters.
You can climb the artificial climbing wall in the Gozd Martuljek.
Its addicts have to climb over “Lucifer” at least once in their lives. This is not the entrance to hell, but the famous icy waterfall in the Martuljek Forest. It is recommended to visit Lucifer as well as the other icefalls under Prisanko and in Tamar with a guide.
Beginners and the curious can try the Mlačca gorge in Mojstrana. This unique ice-climbing center offers security, guides and equipment rental, so even complete novices can try ice-climbing! It's not as hard as it looks!
